As others have said, the composition and curves are what make this a good piece.
The lines never seem to run straight, always curving or flowing in different directions, almost as if it is indeed water, doing its best to flow off the page.
That, and it's a fascinating subject to me. Elemental aspects, avatars, embodiments, they're like what might be lying just behind a soul if we could se a little better...
